A little Recognition…

Hi Ladies!

If you follow makeup channels on YouTube, you most likely are aware of the most popular YouTube faces out there right now. After I found that I ran out of Jacklyn Hill videos to watch I started searching things like contouring and highlighting, after doing this I came across a very talented YouTube face that deserves a lot more publicity and viewers. Her channel is Shonagh Scott on YouTube and she focuses on a lot of cream highlighting as well as cream contouring. After getting my RMCA concealer palette a few months ago I found that it was just sitting in my makeup collection but I was never actually picking it up to use it but after watching Shonagh’s videos the entire highlighting and contouring concept was so much easier to understand… You should be aware though that she is doing more dramatic heavy looks so she is using the concealer to contour and highlight on her face and then she applies foundation over top of that layer and then adds powders. While her channel may not be for the everyday girl looking to do some light bronzing, it is worth checking out because she will teach you some very basic tips about where you should be laying the highlight and bronzer and from there you can modify it to your liking. I love her videos too because unlike a lot of other YouTubers she uses a lot of the same products so if you wanted to invest in what she is using not only is it not very expensive but you know that you would really be putting that product to use over time. If you are not interested in her contouring and highlighting videos then skip to the middle and watch her do her eye shadow because it looks flawless every time. She is so talented and you will really be missing out if you don’t check out her blog.

xoxo

My answers to Melody’s questions are:

1. What are your ‘Holy Grail’ brushes(eye and face) ?

  • Although I probably have way to many face and eye brushes I always find myself reaching for a few of my favorites first off being the E55 from Sigma Eye Shading Brush. To me, this is my holy grail eye brush because you can really pack on the eyeshadows and it’s also my favorite brush to use with pigments. I find that this brush works amazing both wet and dry and it distributes the color so evenly and perfectly on my eye, it’s one of those brushes that I recommend to everyone because I think it would work for everyone.
  • Next is the Sigma E15 Flat Definer Brush, this brush allows you to not only perfectly pack the color onto the lower lash like but also to smoke it out slightly. I personally do not like a heavily smoked out lash line so this is perfect because it really diffuses the color but makes it more smokey instead of just a line of color.
  • I have to mention the F86 from Sigma. I discovered this brush a while back and it has been one of my holy grail brushes for a while now. I do love my beauty blender but when I am not in a rush I like to blend out my concealer with this brush because it gives me such an airbrushed finish while making sure that my under eye does not look cakey.
  • Of Course I had to mention the F80 from Sigma which is everyones favorite Flat Top Kabuki Brush. This brush is so dense and really allows to first stipple out the foundation onto the face and then go in and blend it out. It creates a very airbrushed finish at the end and is a perfect brush for beginners of advanced makeup artists. If you have acne prone skin you are going to love this brush because it will cover any marks you may have by its ability to really pack on the foundation (but it doesn’t look cakey don’t worry)
  • Next from Mac is the 188 Small Duo Fiber, I love this brush for my cream highlight because it blends everything out quickly and seemliness into my skin without disturbing my foundation underneath.
  • Lastly, a brush I could not live without is the 217 Blending Brush from MAC. I can not even describe this brush other than saying it is perfect and you need it in your life.

2. What are your favorite eye shadow palettes?

  • First and foremost I love to build my own palettes from Makeup Geek, if you haven’t tried their eye shadows they are comparable to MAC and half the price. Some of the shadows I actually prefer more than MAC’s because of how creamy they are.
  • The Lorac Pro Palette
  • SmashBox for Blue Eyes Palette ( I don’t have blue eyes but I like the colors more in this)
  • Lorac Unzipped Palette

3. What inspires and motivates you to blog?

  • I honestly love makeup and the effect that it can have on people because of the way it transforms them. I used to get so many questions about products I love or how I do my eye shadow and I just thought that through this blog I can share the skills and ideas I have come up with over the last few years of playing around with makeup. I am definitely no makeup artist but I love makeup and I don’t think that you need to be an artist to put your work and your thoughts out into the world. Makeup is an amazing industry and I want to connect with others who share the same love for it that is why I chose to start blogging.

4. What are your favorite makeup brands?

  • Tarte
  • Lorac
  • Urban Decay
  • Laura Mercier
  • Bobby Brown
  • Makeup Forever
  • L’Oreal
  • Too Faced
  • Makeup Geek

5. What current beauty trends that you are loving or would like to try?

  • Graphic Liner
  • Bright eye shadow colors
  • Bright eye shadow in the lower lash line
  • White eye liner
  • Orange and coral lips
  • Over drawn lips
  • Mattes
  • Heavy contour

6. Which online shopping websites that you shop often?

  • Makeup Geek
  • Sigma
  • Motives Cosmetics

7. Do you have a bucket list? and what’s the No. 1 thing you would like to complete first?

  • I have a really long bucket list and honestly there is no order to it because they are all so important to me. One thing I have been saying I want to do for a long time though is go sky diving. I have a really big fear of  heights and I want to overcome that.

8. What are your favorite fashion styles?

  • Pleated knee length skirts
  • Gladiator heels
  • Flannels tied around your waist
  • Boyfriend Jeans
  • Strappy lace up high heels
  • Statement necklaces
  • Bright colored purses

9. Top three favorite beauty bloggers and why?

  • Sophie Elkus is my all time favorite fashion and beauty blogger
  • Lisa Eldrige
  • Hair and Makeup by Steph

10. What is the story behind your blog name?

  • It’s just a silly story… Everyone has always said I was very tall until I got older and everyone else started to grow so I remember hearing someone on America’s Next Top Model call a tall girl a Glamazonian (Amazonian just with a G) but that spelling wasn’t available so I chose something close lol.

11. If you can pick any country to live, where would that be?

  • America. Honestly I love traveling and I have been to Europe but I always love coming home to California. I have always wanted to move to New York and live in a big city but Los Angeles is amazing and I can not imagine leaving America or California for a long period of time.
